

Christchurch United Code of Conduct for Players
Players are the most important people in the sport. Playing for the team, and playing to win, is the most fundamental part of the game. But not winning at any cost – Fair Play and Respect for others in the game are fundamentally important.
Obligations to the Game
A player should:
Make every effect to develop their own sporting abilities in terms of skill, technique, tactics and stamina.
Give maximum effect and strive for the best possible performance during a game.
Set a positive example for others.
Avoid all forms of gamesmanship and time-wasting
Not to use inappropriate language
Be positive and supportive when publicly expressing an option on a game, any aspect of the game, including others involved with the game.
Play the game within the rules set down by the governing body
Treat all opponents with due respect, no matter the outcome of the game
Avoid violence and rough play, help injured opponents
Accept the decision of the Match Official without protest
Show due respect to Match Officials
Obligations to one’s own team
A player should:
Keep good time keeping
Have a positive attitude to training and games
Be supportive of fellow team mates
Make every effect to improve their game and abilities and to improve the team’s game.
Help to develop a trusting and positive environment
Show respect to other players and your coach
Abide by the instructions of your coach; provide they do not contradict the spirit of the code.
Not bring the game into disrepute by actions or language
Follow the Respect Code at all times
